people ask me all the time why i love living in columbus. those of you who have never been here before probably think one of the following:
-where is ohio anyway? in the middle of the country? 7 hours from an ocean? GROSS.
-there are probably cornfields for miles, as far as the eye can see.
-do people actually go cow-tipping?
let me educate you a little on my city:
#1 - columbus is the 16th largest city IN AMERICA. ain't no cornfields in this neck of the woods. and no cow-tipping either. (i don't even know what cow-tipping is to be honest.)
#2 - columbus was voted the #1 city in which to raise a family by business week in 2009. so move here, buy a house, and raise yo' babies.
#3 - there are some pretttttty sweet companies based in the columbus metro area, so we're a hot-bed for economic development. ever eaten at wendy's? shopped at the limited, victoria's secret, express, abercrombie, or hollister? enjoyed the fragrances at bath and body works? YEP, all companies that are headquartered in columbus. you're welcome, bra shoppers.
#4 - we're a test market for new restaurant menu items. did you ever have pizza at mcdonald's when you were a kid? i did!! and it was awesome. i was mad when they didn't roll it out nationwide.
#5 - aside from my friends and me, there is some COOL STUFF in columbus. let me share.

awesome dining, shopping, and entertainment part of town

the number one zoo in america!

home of my ohio state buckeyes - 107,000 strong on football gamedays.

award winning local ice cream...try the salty caramel.

easton town center...my favorite place to shop, walk around, and people-watch.

the amazing historic ohio theatre

cedar point - home of the best roller coasters in the world and only a 2 hour drive from columbus!
and that's not to mention the gazillion festivals we have each year (arts fest, italian fest, oktoberfest, jazz+ribs fest, etc.). if you have a favorite cuisine, holiday, or culture, we probably have a festival in its honor.
are you convinced to come visit yet?!
