first and foremost, i'm sorry!! i know i teased you with hopes of a yahoo-related blog post last week, but i got busy with work...and well, planning my upcoming vacation while at work, which sadly took precedence over entertaining you cute little readers. however, i'm here now. you're here now. let's forget about that whole "unfulfilled promises" thing.
i'm feeling obligated to write today, not only because i have a great topic but also because i'm going to be missing in action for the next six business days. yes, that's right: i'm taking a big, long vacation from work, leading to consecutive two-day work weeks. be jealous. then again, you can hold off on your jealousy for a few days at least, considering part of my "vacation" will consist of taking care of my mom after her foot surgery. however, after my daughterly obligation has been fulfilled and i've reclaimed "favorite child in the world" status, i get to take off for georgia for a real mini vaca from sunday-wednesday! yes, laying by the pool, visiting the cnn center for a tour and to pick up more braves apparel (evidently i need even more kid-sized baseball tees), maybe going to see some baby pandas at zoo atlanta, maybe hanging out with TK, a 99.9% confirmed visit from RT...okay, you can be jealous of that. i am visiting two of our warehouses outside atlanta while i'm there, but that'll be okay. too bad my company isn't paying for my trip...but c'est la vie. here's a quick vacation outline before i get to my awesome post:
-wednesday, 8/19: oil change, sign lease on new apartment, shopping, other errands, dinner with scal, jo, and tc
-thursday, 8/20: hospital at 5:15 a.m. (yuck) for mom's foot surgery...yes, i'm thrilled, if you can't tell.
-friday, 8/21: mom-sitting all day, then down to l-town to visit MK who's in town from washington dc!
-saturday, 8/22: maybe some more mom-sitting, but then laundry, packing, last minute errands.
-sunday, 8/23: leave home at 6:00 a.m., drive to atlanta, hopefully get to hotel by 3:00 p.m. - in time to relax and maybe nap by the pool.
-monday, 8/24: work site visits for most of the day.
-tuesday, 8/25: sightseeing, relaxing, normal vacation things.
-wednesday, 8/26: drive home from georgia and get ready to go back to work...booo!

yes, these precious little guys really are at zoo atlanta. and yes, you'd better believe i'm going to try to fit one in my car to bring home as a souvenier. wish me luck.
