there are birthdays...and then there are BIRTHDAYS.
my 29th (yikes!) was one of the latter. it was awesome, my friends.
on my actual birthday last wednesday when i went in to my desk in the morning, i was greeted by a birthday balloon, yellow roses, and more chocolate than willy wonka himself could handle. cupcakes! brownies! SO MUCH CHOCOLATE!!!
{happy callie.}
my work girls are the best. then i took a half-day off work and headed out to meet my mama for lunch at panera. i like to make sure i see my mom on my bday every year, just to say thanks for going through 17 hours of labor to get me here at 8:42 p.m. (thus the screen shot above). panera may sound like a boring lunch choice for a birthday, but i am a carbaholic, so panera = heaven for me. my mom also brought me a smiley face cookie from my favorite bakery. MORE SWEETS!!
{hyper happy callie.}
after renewing my driver's license (and acing my license picture for the second straight time - cha-ching!), i headed home to get ready to meet some friends for dinner. see, every year there is a fundraiser for a local hospital called slice of columbus. this fundraiser brings together 20 local pizza vendors, you pay $10 and get ALL THE PIZZA YOU CAN EAT. and ice cream. and it happens during my birthday week each year. it is a dream come true for this pizza lover. this year, slice of columbus actually fell on my birthday.
{happiest. birthday girl. ever.}
i spent the rest of the weekend celebrating with my family, friends, and mike. highlights? okay, here are 5 in no particular order.
-the phenomenal kitchenaid mixer gifted to me by my godparents! christmas cookie extravaganza, here i come!
-surprise birthday dinner at due amici downtown with mike.
-the adorable card mike gave me - it says "every day i love you...s'more and s'more!" hehehe.
-the fabulous jewelry armoire mike gave me! now i won't constantly misplace things!
-celebrating with my chicago bestie, mary, and all my wonderful friends. i am so lucky.
we also had a great dinner with my family thursday night, watched another ohio state win, and were blessed by a great church service and new member class on sunday.
and i may or may not have eaten this cupcake for breakfast yesterday.
it's okay. it was just my birthday. cupcakes for breakfast are totally allowed.
{how long can i use that excuse?}

yay yay so fun!
